PLASTIGAGE BEARING MEASUREMENT

This plastigage bearing measuring strip checks bearing clearance in engines. The product consists of a thin strip placed between bearing and journal during assembly. After tightening the bearing cap, the deformed thickness is compared with the printed scale on the packaging. This gives a direct indication of the existing clearance. The strip is suitable for small tolerances within a limited range. It is used during assembly, overhaul and diagnosis of engine bearings in workshop conditions. The material dissolves in oil and leaves no hard residue on the bearing surface or on the journal.
